Kit Carson #3276
Kit is a beautiful dun – 10 yr old SM. He has been extensively trail ridden in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Big Horns and Yellowstone area of WY. Kit is an excellent mountain horse covering logs, bridges, creek/rivers with no hesitation. Kit is used to ponying a pack horse for overnight stays in wilderness areas. Kit is also tie line and hobble broke. Kit has been used in all trail riding settings with large groups such as SD Trailriders, small groups or alone. Kit has been on several endurance rides of 25 miles – most recently completing a top 10 finish at the Ft Meade Remount Ride in July 2007. Kit has been showed in western pleasure, trail, and halter classes – winning SMR Western Pleasure Grand Champion at SMR national meeting show in Oshoto, WY 2007. Kit is easy to trailer and shoe. Kit can be ridden bareback with halter and leadrope. Kit requires an experienced rider and prefers women. Kit has a tendency to be hypervigilant or “watchy”. To a good home only. Had about 15 days of training with Kirk Hall this March and was doing very well. Training was continued in June 07 (30 days) and he is working cattle now.
