The President is Gary W. Green. Gary has been a member of the SMR for approximately 12 years. He grew up living in a city in northern Indiana and after graduating from college moved to Southern Indiana where he works with troubled youth in an alternative education setting. This area has been his home since 1978 and provides him with opportunities to do what he loves: working with youth and interacting with horses. The Spanish Mustang entered his life approximately fifteen years ago. Gary believes that these horses provide a living connection with history and that the work started by Mr. Bob Brislawn must be continued. In addition, Gary believes that all decisions by the Registry should be based upon the preservation of the Spanish Mustang above all else.

Jessie Clason is the Publicity Chairperson. She's loved horses since she was a little girl, but did not have the luxury of owning her first horse until she was 13. She married an active duty soldier at age 18. At their second duty station located at Fort Riley, KS, they attended a local rodeo. The Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard put on a demonstration with several "Mustangs" which caught her interest. When she realized that mustangs still existed in the wild, she researched them. Through this research she discovered that there were several different types of mustangs, and decided to focus on the Spanish Mustang and its history. It wasn’t until she met her current husband, Dave, that she was able to have horses again. They purchased their first Spanish Mustang in April of 2006. In 2007 a weanling, silver dun, Spanish Mustang stud colt, by the name of Dan de Lion, was purchased to be their stallion. This was the birth of Windy Ridge Spanish Mustangs.
After becoming a displaced worker in 2008, Jessie decided to take the opportunity to go back to school. She became a full time student at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. After two semesters in the Business Management Program, she switched gears, and is currently in pursuit of an associate degree in Accounting. Her goal is to help the SMR any which way she can.
